More About Us

If you received this newsletter from a friend:

Welcome to the first issue of Shaggy Dog Solutions newsletter for the grain and feed industry.  As active members of the California Grain and Feed Association, we want bring to you some of the most interesting topics that come to our attention each month.  They will range from SFSF, to mill economics, technology, Human Resource news, regulations... whatever percolates to the top.

We don't want to impinge on your day, so we will be brief, but we will periodically include some links to more in-depth articles.  Additionally, we don't want to duplicate the information that Chris Zanobini includes in his weekly Conveyor Currents, but may include links back to some of his articles.  We also want to encourage your feedback, so click here and we will listen.  At the moment we are scheduled to make this a monthly publication.  If at a later date you conclude that this is either too infrequent or too frequent, let us know.  This newsletter will only be valuable if it is read, and it will only be read if it contains material that you find to be meaningful in your business.

Again, welcome and thank your for allowing us to take a few minutes of your day.

GFIC Is Taking Shape

Each January you have the opportunity to participate in the Grain and Feed Industry Conference (GFIC).  Shaggy Dog is proud to be a sponsor and a member of the planning committee as we have been for a number of years.  While all of the details have not been worked out, I can tell you that this event will be a great benefit to all who make the trip to Monterey January 13th and 14th.  We are having our second planning session in a couple of weeks.  Watch for a sneak peek in the next issue of this newsletter.

John Gonsalves Scholarship Program

Shaggy Dog believes that we share in the responsibility to make this business attractive to our youth.  The California Grain and Feed Association has taken a leadership role through their continued support of the John Gonsalves Scholarship Fund.  Their stewardship has prompted our firm to make a comitment to donate 5% of the retail price of all Dell business class products purchased by CGFA members through Shaggy Dog to that scholarship fund.  Click here for details.  Help a future CGFA member!

Just one more thing:  "Newsletter" is not a very good name for a newsletter!  Click here to submit your suggestion.  You may make as many suggestions as you wish.  The person who submits the winning name will receive a fun and valuable gift pack.

Sincerely,
